2010 BSF Preview - From the PDGA web site

Stumptown Disc Golf is partnering again this year with KEEN footwear in conjunction with HukLab, Innova & Next Adventure to bring you the 2010 Beaver State Fling (www.beaverstatefling.com).

2010 has started off with a bang. The Stumptown Slosh Series sold out the first two events and the third event is filling quickly. We added 20 members in January and are getting VERY close to issuing member number 300. Not bad for a club that has only been around for just under three years. We also have 88 members that have already renewed for 2010.

I had a chance to be involved in two disc golf tournament planning meetings and the preparation for the Slosh Series #2 event this week. It is exciting to see such a dedicated group of people eager to make these tournaments achieve an even more professional level than we have seen in the past. Who would have thought that a January disc golf touranment would draw over 100 players? It just goes to show how quickly our sport is growing. Take a look at the PDGA article on the growth of our sport as evidenced at the Outdoor Trade Show.

Rules Exam Ready -

Plans are currently underway to host the February Stumptown Slosh Tournament in Vancouver. Tournament Directors Ryan Gwillim and Steve Carson have secured "By the Bottle" as the title sponsor. We are currently negotiating with the Lakeview Par 3 Challenge Golf Course to rent their facility on February 20th, 2010. The course will follow the ball golf course layout with a few modification in order to accomodate 13 holes instead of the normal 9 holes. Sign up in the store.

Signups are available for the upcoming Winter Hoedown (Slosh Series #2) on January 24th at Hornings Hideout.  Slosh #1 sold out and about a dozen people got turned away so don't wait!
You can also pre-order your 2010 bag tag which are scheduled to be distributed this year at the Winter Hoedown. This years tags will be full color again and printed on credit card like card rather than laminated like last year.
